Dear Mr. Murray,
It has come to our attention that your T.50 Hypercar (pictured above) looks just like our 2003 MR2 Spyder.
Seeing this clear design ripoff, we have no choice but to... ask if you can produce a cut-price version that we can put “MR2” badges on and sell it at Toyota dealerships.
We can’t be bothered to develop one ourselves and it looks like you’ve done all the heavy lifting for us. We’ll just put in a 1.8-liter non-turbo 4-cylinder engine and call it a day.
Please let us know how soon you’d like to partner up on this project. We’re eager to outsource to you.
Signed,
Toyota

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too!

I really like MR2 Spyders; the T.50 weighs about the same but just has more engine. The similarity is awesome.

I see a cross between a McLaren F1 and a startled Porsche 918.

I immediately thought MR2 as well haha. I’m watching the drivetribe video now.

Maybe the next-generation 86 will ease the pain. It’ll be at least 1/2 Toyota, rather than 100% not Toyota.
It kinda pained me to write it too but that’s how we have to hold Toyota accountable :P

I’d still drive the pants off of one if it had a 1.8 L N/A engine.

It’s funny because, when you first see an F1 in person, your first thought is “wow those headlights are huge! also this car is tiny!” but in pictures it doesn’t look like that would be the case.

This is perfection. Peak car.
